Undergraduate Invitation to Alumni

Lucas Carter, SigEp NYX Undergraduate President

With the weather finally starting to warm up (reach above 0 in Potsdam), the excitement of Alumni Weekend is beginning to loom in the air. A time when alumni can reconnect with brothers they have fallen out of touch with, and undergrads finally get to meet the alumni they have heard so much about. This has always been one of the undergrads’ favorite weekends, and I’m sure the alumni feel the same.

This year the weekend will consist of an Alumni career panel, the undergrads beating the alumni in softball, a happy hour in Club 99, and a dinner reception in the Cheel Barben rooms. Please see the SigEp NYX blog for full details.

To provide a bit of the current context of NYX, our chapter has continued to succeed and maintain its positive reputation with the University and the community. We currently have 41 active members, and in the fall of 2015 we boasted an average 3.09 GPA. This semester we have volunteered and logged over 150 man hours at the Maplewood assisted living facility in Canton. We also have donated to Shepard’s for Lost Sheep, Potsdam Humane Society, and St. Lawrence Hospice this past year. We have constantly been looking for opportunities to give back to our community whether that be here in the North Country or within the greater SigEp Alumni community.

I would like to invite you to attend Alumni Weekend (April 8th-10th) to reconnect with brothers and see how well our chapter is carrying forward the vision of our founders!
